01
Understand Islam
Before anything else — read and learn. Islam in Brief covers everything a non-Muslim needs to know: who Allah is, what Muslims believe, who Muhammad ﷺ was, and what Islam actually teaches.
02
Take the Shahada
The Shahada is the declaration of faith — the single sentence that makes you Muslim. Learn what it means, its conditions, how to say it, and what happens the moment you do.
03
Learn Wudu
The first practical thing to learn after the Shahada. Wudu is the ritual purification performed before every prayer. It takes about 2 minutes and is a beautiful act of cleansing.
04
Learn to Pray
The five daily prayers are the backbone of a Muslim's life. This guide walks you through every position, every word, and every meaning — step by step.
05
Begin Reading the Quran
Start with Al-Fatihah and the short surahs at the end. Our Quran Reader lets you read in Arabic with full translations and audio recitation by world-renowned reciters.
Common Questions
Do I have to change my name?
No. Only names with meanings that contradict Islam need to be changed. Most Western names are perfectly fine.
Do I need to tell my family?
There is no Islamic requirement to announce your conversion immediately. Use your judgment and seek advice.
What if I don't know Arabic?
You can pray in your own language while you learn. Arabic comes gradually — start with Al-Fatihah.
Do I need to go to a mosque?
No — but it is highly recommended. The Muslim community will support you on your journey.
Are all my past sins forgiven?
Yes. The moment you sincerely take the Shahada, every previous sin is completely wiped clean.
What if I make mistakes?
Everyone makes mistakes. Islam is a journey, not a test you pass or fail. Allah is endlessly merciful.
إِنَّ الدِّينَ عِندَ اللَّهِ الْإِسْلَامُ
"Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam."
Qur'an 3:19
You didn't find Islam by accident. Whatever brought you here — a question, a conversation, a feeling you couldn't explain — take it seriously. The door is always open.
